About Annabelle Aventurin
Annabelle Aventurin is a scholar with an international stature and a noted specialist of African film who worked in various organizations and institutions such as Arsenal - Institut fûr Film und Videokunst in Berlin, FEMIS (French National School of image and Sound), French Cinémathèque and for French Television. She is responsible for the preservation and distribution of Med Hondo's film collection at Ciné-Archives, the audiovisual fund of the PCF and the workers' movement. In 2021, she coordinated the restoration of Hondo’s films West Indies (1979) and Sarraounia (1986) in collaboration with the Harvard Film Archive. She is also an associate programmer in 2022-2023 at the Open City. She is a leading figure of African film studies whose presence will be highly beneficial to other participants, to the event, and to the institution.
